A friend of mine living in the USA, who is pretty much into using semantic-driven web search engines, called my attention last night after keying in my name ’Karl Quirino’ in the search box of one of these engines just so to find out what re-sults would pop up.
He’s doing some comparative research and ana-lysis using these various search engines to deter-mine just how much smarter these really are in turning in more meaningful results stacked up against search giants like Google and Yahoo.
Knowing that I write and publish topics falling under some 23 categories and counting as a hobby, he felt using my name was an ideal ‘guinea pig’ to use among others. In fairness, he emailed me the results.
I guess it doesn’t get better than this for a writer when the good peo-ple behind WordPress.com see it fitting enough to feature this blog site’s var-ious posts in their daily-updated ’Blogs About:‘ section, which also happens to be driven by a search function itself. To be honest, I’m humbled but also flattered!
The image found below is a snapshot of the WordPress.com web page section header my friend took down using a screen capture tool yesterday. Under it are the 22 consecutive unique instances where some of my posts were cited on that day.
NOTE: The term ‘Goodfellas’, which I use for part of the title of this post, by no means alludes to anything derogatory on my part.

I’m not surprised by your American friend’s findings. But, I am also curious about which semantic-based search engines he uses for his research and what it does. Maybe you can write something about that too. Overall, your are a prolific English writer.
You reap what you sow. It’s a good harvest because of the quality of your content. Goed gedane, Karl.
Marvelous outcome. Keep it up, mate!
I’m not surprised. You do after all write on some very interesting topics. Bien hecho!
